Was just reading this and noticed the addendum to the Register Terms. I'm kind of scratching my head at the heavy handed enforcement of these forums now. It seems there's a concerted effort to erase everything that made Cats a home to such kick ass people over the years and instead turn it into some ultra-conservative haven of political correctness. The moderation doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as the deletion of all the old threads though. If you wanted a guild without any history why not just start a new one?

Perhaps the greatest point of contention is not that people wish to have an unchallenged say...perhaps it is the knowledge that some people who frequent here do not have the maturity to handle hearing divergent opinions. In this case, it is well considered to heavily moderate this board.

I have found at times that some people "get it", and can handle it. Others become "rule quoters" who have no idea of the history of the guild and simply complain or find issue when someone says something they do not care for or understand the background of. This very thread may contain such a person(s).

Ultimately, if we could find a community of souls all of whom displayed adequate ability to "flex" in ideology and repertoire, and also who can demonstrate a good sense of humor, such moderation would no doubt cease. The unfortunate reality is that some will be able to understand, and some will not. Hence, I imagine, some posts remain and some do not.
